It looks as though we are going to get a break in the weather for a few days, allowing the site to dry out. We are hoping that the building pad will be dry enough to begin digging foundations by mid next week.
After the slab is poured a day of rain causes minor delays (usually just the actual day it rains). Right now, it looks as if it is taking about 4-5 clear days to dry up a single days worth of rain.
Check out the camera tomorrow to witness the surveyors verify building layout and installing construction staking for the storm drain.

From my front row seat, I counted 19 trucks or pieces of equipment. Two huge loads of cement pipes were photo worthy as Pastor Neal went out to snap a few. (The strong, drying west wind nearly blew him off his ladder though!)We also have the light blue pipes, Pastor Neal said they were water pipes. No matter which direction you look on the building site, there's activity going on. This morning, I even felt a rumble in the Buscher house as the equipment was starting up. Thank God for blessing us with wind and sun!
We saw a truck up close on the live images today--so exciting! Thank you God for all of your blessings, for patience, & for Your perfect timing.
Another day starts out sunny. We can hear the beep-beep-beep of trucks backing up, all the way at my house at 7am, the day starts early on the building site. The excavation is getting closer to the office, almost in the backyard. Two more pieces of earth moving equipment just arrived. It's a good thing we have so much acreage...it's needed to hold all the equipment being used! I even saw the septic tank brought in the other afternoon, on this trailer with a HUGE crane to lift it off...and I watch a burly, lumberjack type of guy carefully roll the big cement pipes off his trailer, single-handedly! Took a few pix of that! When you come out here on Sunday, be prepared to see piles of dirt everywhere. Thanks be to God for the drying sun and gentle breezes.
They still haven't made it yet. Eighteen days to go before the building arrives and it looks like a lot of work left.
If you think hope is enough, vote for Obama! I am from Missouri- the "Show Me" state.
Hope keeps me going. Faith in God's timing is right up there with hope. And yes, I'm voting for Obama, being the Cali girl that I am!
Yesterday's winds swirled around here mightily, but this morning, all the equipment is up and running, it doesn't appear any of it blew away. A trench alongside Schmidt Lane was put in yesterday. A worker told me it was for the gas line. Another man came in to turn off the water at our well for a time while he ran some tests on the site.
When the fences first went up, all I could see from my window was FENCING. Several days have gone by and I don't even notice it. I'm able to see through it like it's not there. The mustard flowers are waving in the breeze and some trench work is being done in the center of the building pad, getting closer and closer to my little window. I'm celebrating these days of sunshine while we have them!
